Can't find the right Clorox product? A recent cyberattack is causing some shortages

Certain Clorox products may be harder to come by as the company deals with the aftermath of a cybersecurity attack.
The Clorox Company on Monday said that a cybersecurity attack identified last month damaged portions of its information technology infrastructure, causing “widescale disruption” of operations and impacting product availability. The company owns a number of familiar brands, including Burt's Bees, Glad and Pine-Sol.
Clorox believes the attack has been contained, but operations remain slow with the company completing orders and processing procedures manually. Clorox is repairing its IT infrastructure and reintegrating systems that were taken offline and expects to ramp up to full production “over time,” according to a regulatory filing.
The company said it could not predict how long it would take to return to normal operations but expects to begin shifting back to automated order processing next week.
The cyberattack is expected to be “material” to the company’s first-quarter financial results. Clorox shares were down 0.2% early Monday afternoon, trading at $145.85 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The cyberattack update from Clorox comes shortly after MGM Resorts International, which operates many of the Las Vegas Strip resorts, took systems offline after discovering a cybersecurity issue. Guests have reported long lines for the front desk and issues with phone lines and slot machines.
