Jenelle Evans is celebrating Jace Evans becoming a teen now.
The Teen Mom: The Next Chapter star shared a glimpse at her eldest son’s 15th birthday on Aug. 3.
“What is 15? Being 15 is riding 4 wheelers, building tents, ordering pizza with friends. That’s how @jaces_vahn wanted his birthday!” Jenelle captioned a photo of herself and Jace posing in front of a birthday cake covered in candles. “How did those years go by so quick? I’m the short one now! #HappyBirthday.”
The mother of three also shared a video of Jace riding off with some friends on a golf cart.
And though the proud mom was excited to celebrate her son’s big day, the post wasn’t without some controversy. Jace’s T-shirt raised some eyebrows after fans noticed the logo for Cookies, a cannabis company.
One commenter wrote, “Cookies shirt at 15?” prompting the reality star to reply, “It’s just a shirt.”
Another follower commented, “Is he high?” with Jenelle once again responding, “It’s just a shirt.”
Jenelle welcomed Jace with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis in 2009, and his birth was featured on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. She also shares son Kaiser Griffith, 10, with ex Nathan Griffith and daughter Ensley Eason, 7, with ex David Eason. Jenelle and David are currently in the middle of a divorce after six years of marriage.
In June, Jenelle told E! News that prior to the former couple’s split, they had been struggling for “six months to a year.”
"I was over it for a while and would tell friends that I'm over it and I'm going to leave,” Jenelle added. “But at the same time, it's hard to leave when you're both on the same deed to the house. It took me awhile to actually get a little window of opportunity to leave, to file everything I had to file."
On a recent episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Jenelle accused her ex of being “mentally abusive,” detailing to co-star Briana DeJesus the alleged comments David made about her.
When asked for comment, David told E! News, "I can not elaborate on any of that at this time but I can tell you that those things did not happen. When the truth does come out you will all be very, very surprised!"
But the final straw came in January when a grand jury indicted David on a child abuse charge stemming from a September 2023 altercation with Jace.
Having finally regained custody of Jace from her mom Barbara Evans in March 2023 after a decade-long fight, "I didn't want anything, anything to come in between that," Jenelle explained. "So for him to come in between that, it was just a real breaking point for me as well. I've been at the battle for Jace for years, and it's like, he's finally here. So I'm not messing that up."
