Katy Perry’s loved ones are far from hot n’ cold when it comes to giving her feedback.
Indeed, the former American Idol judge recently detailed how her fiancé Orlando Bloom and the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove gave her a run for her money while trying her newest ice cream flavor Baby You’re a Firework Blue Raspberry, made in collaboration with McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams.
“My family were definitely my focus group,” she gushed exclusively to E! News of the new flavor, which is blue raspberry ice cream swirled with homemade raspberry jam and rainbow sprinkles. “We went through three rounds of taste tests before landing on the final recipe!”
And Katy even teased that the treat, which is available to buy now, may have even been delicious enough for her daughter’s Aug. 26 birthday celebration, adding of the 4-year-old’s special day, “Let’s just say there was ice cream involved!”
Of course, Katy’s latest business endeavor is also a nod to her extended family, as McConnell’s is a staple of her native Santa Barbara—where she still resides with the Pirates of the Caribbean star and their daughter.
In fact, ten percent of all proceeds from her new flavor’s sales will go to the Firework Foundation—founded in 2018 by Katy and her sister Angela Lerche—which seeks to empower children through the arts and outdoors.
And while Orlando and Daisy were her taste testers, Katy’s inspiration behind her new ice cream is reminiscent of her Santa Barbara childhood. And rest assured, she still believes that nothing comes close to the golden coast.
“I love the sanctuary of Santa Barbara,” she added. “I can bike Daisy to preschool, and my family is all within walking distance.”
In addition to curating the perfect summertime snack, Katy has been busy promoting her upcoming seventh album 143, a record she’s “always wanted to make.” And her daughter has helped her with that creative move as well, she previously noted.
"What she has given me in my life [is] the unconditional love that I was always searching for," Katy told E! News in April. “Yes, that is where I am creating from. Just like wholeness, happiness and just true full love.”
For her part, Daisy has shown her mom’s performances and music plenty of love. The toddler even attended some of Katy’s Play Las Vegas residency shows before they wrapped up in November.
“She loved it so much,” she told E! News in 2022. “She was dancing in the audience and just being, you know, her joyful self.”

The baby bump photo was one of several sweet snapshots Perry shared on Bloom's birthday. She also posted an old photo of the stars brushing their teeth.
In addition, she looked back at the night they got engaged—Valentine's Day 2019 to be exact.

There was also this gem from the early days of their relationship. But to look back at their full love story, keep scrolling.
At the very start of 2016, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom raised eyebrows when the two seemed flirty at a Golden Globes after party. Now, we know that this is the night that started it all!
After dating for nearly a year, the two visited sick kids at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The photos from the event also marked one of the earliest appearances of Bloom on Perry's social media.
After a break in the middle of 2017, the couple got back together and stunned at the amfAR Gala in Los Angeles.
The morning after Valentine's Day 2019, Perry shared the exciting news that she and Bloom were engaged by posting an adorable selfie of the two together and a shot of her ring.
She simply captioned the heartwarming moment, "Full bloom."
Bloom shared this snapshot to his Instagram after the two attended Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner's nupitals, writing, "Wonderful weekend of being love and celebrating love, congrats to a beautiful union."
In August 2019, Perry showed support for her beau at the Carnival Row premiere.
"Together our initials are O.K. and that's what it's gonna be ♥️," Perry captioned her sweet screenshot of her and Bloom FaceTiming one another.
In a very relateable video posted to her Instagram, Perry shared that she and Bloom were in bed on New Year's Eve well before the ball dropped writing, "When you're in bed before midnight is when you know you're starting the new year right #2020."
The superstar singer announced her pregnancy in her "Never Worn White" music video in March 2020. The couple welcomed a daughter, Daisy, in Aug. 2020.
